The successful incumbent will:
- On-campus, five days a week, providing front desk coverage, supporting clients' email and telephone inquiries
- Provide recruitment support to the HR Generalist team; create, post, monitor and remove job postings via Cornerstone, ICE and other appropriate websites; schedule recruitment with internal/external candidates, while working with the hiring panel; reference checking - conduct and document comprehensive reference checks to support hiring decisions, and support hiring managers with Cornerstone (ATS) inquiries.
- Participate in interview selection committees as needed
- Track the receipt of Support Staff performance review-related documents
- Prepare probationary reviews, track the successful completion of probationary periods for support staff and faculty, and prepare and distribute probation completion memos
- Monitor HumanResources@durhamcollege.ca and HRcontractreturn@durhamcollege.ca mailboxes; distribute inquiries to generalists/HR team as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and transactional update meetings.
- Prepare and distribute monthly Support UCC Minutes and ESC Minutes.
- Create letters of employment for all employee groups, part-time and full-time, as requested
- Support HR Benefits Assistant with the creation and distribution of benefit update memos for retirees and partial loads
- Create and distribute part-time faculty contracts (EPAF) each semester (Winter, Spring/Summer and Fall)
- Supporting PPL and ORSIE with specific contract requests
- Tracking CAAT pension election, and processing of returned signed contracts through the hrcontractreturn@durhamcollege.ca inbox
- Possess a minimum three-year diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience providing HR support services, particularly recruitment and selection.
- Experience working with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) will be considered an asset.
- Preparation of clear, concise documentation (i.e. recruitment materials)
- A strong focus on updating and maintaining HR's record information systems
- Interpersonal skills, particularly working as a member of a team.
- Providing excellent customer service to all students, employees and guests.
