- Perform account reconciliations and maintain lead sheet tracking.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses for leadership.
- Oversee accounts receivable tracking, ensuring timely follow-up and reporting.
- Support budgeting, including preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.
- Prepare detailed cost reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Track contract renewals and maintain related documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Recommend and help implement improvements to financial processes and internal controls.
- Complete HST reconciliations and ensure accurate, timely CRA remittances.
- Track and pay vendors using the electronic payee banking system.
- Prepare and manage cost-sharing invoices.
- Reconcile charitable trust associated with annual events.
- Review and reconcile staff gas receipts and grievance trust activities.
- Assist with audit preparation, including schedules and documentation.
- CPA designation or in final stages of CPA certification.
- 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Experience in unionized, non-profit, or membership-based organizations.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, ERP systems, Power BI, or reporting software.
- Experience with process improvement and internal controls documentation.
