- Receive incoming artwork files and complete prepress checks in a timely manner.
- Review artwork to identify potential print issues, including but not restricted to: resolution problems, incorrect colour specifications, missing bleed, elements outside of safety margins, etc.
- Prepare and finalize print-ready files according to production requirements.
- Identify and communicate artwork discrepancies or spec mismatches (e.g., missing spot layers, incorrect colour formats, incorrect file setup versus ordered specs).
- Communicate directly with customer graphics teams or project managers to resolve artwork issues quickly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to review artwork-related claims, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to reduce future issues.
- Review open projects and group jobs with similar specifications to optimize cost and timing efficiency. Impose forms based on product type, print specs, and quantities to maximize sheet utilization and minimize waste.
- Prioritize form imposition based on production timelines and customer delivery requirements.
- Ensure form creation is completed efficiently to avoid downstream production delays.
- Coordinate with production teams to confirm form requirements and readiness.
- Enter customer orders into the docket or ERP system accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update order details to reflect any customer or production changes.
- Take ownership of the docket throughout the lifecycle of the job, ensuring all relevant information is current and complete.
- Track project progress and ensure key milestones are properly recorded in internal systems.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders to print vendors once forms and production plans are finalized.
- Verify that purchase orders reflect accurate specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors as needed to ensure clarity on job requirements and timelines.
- Work closely with production and client-facing teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Help resolve issues related to artwork, specifications, or production readiness.
- Maintain strong communication across departments to ensure accurate and timely information flow.
- Focus on reducing errors, minimizing claims, and improving overall production efficiency
- Other duties as assigned.
- Sedentary, office-based role that requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Position requires sitting at desk ¾ or more of day, walking short distances for less than ¼ of day.
- Substantially repetitive movements of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Required to have visual acuity to perform activities including but not limited to analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, extensive reading
