Job Captain - Architectural

- Lead the production of design development and construction plans and documents and ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Conduct site surveys and gather data needed and review all available project information before beginning of design development phase.
- Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and contractors to integrate all design disciplines.
- Research and specify materials and systems with a focus on functionality and sustainability.
- Maintain and update project schedules using Teams Planner and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud Schedule.
- Develop high-quality architectural drawings and 3D models using Revit and AutoCAD, including floor plans, slab edge plans, building and wall sections, and other details.
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and other applicable regulations.
- Produce high quality presentation-ready drawings for architect review and approval at key project milestones.
- Lead coordination meetings with consultants and subcontractors and prepare meeting minutes and action items.
- Ensure that Architectural and Consultants plans are aligned with builder standards
- Review and redline architectural & consultants drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design intent.
- Conduct quality control checks and provide technical solutions during design and documentation phases.
- Support construction administration through site visits, submittal reviews, and RFIs.
- Prepare site visit reports
- Assist in preparing permit applications and liaising with authorities.
- Mentor and guide junior and intermediate architectural technologists and designers, assign and evaluate work as directed.
- Foster a collaborative and communicative team environment.
- Lead internal and external project meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent; Licensed Architectural Technologist (OACETT) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in architectural design and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and construction methods.
- Must have proven experience with mid- and high-rise residential projects.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Blue Beam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to produce accurate 3D models and detailed construction drawings.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Project Management designation is an asset
