Position Title: Quality Supervisor Prepared FoodsPosition Type: Regular - Full-Time ​Position Location: Florenceville Prepared FoodsRequisition ID: 28429We are seeking a flexible and adaptable leader to join us as a Quality Supervisor in Florenceville-Bristol, NB. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising daily functions of QC personnel, ensuring products meet quality standards through verification and reviews, assisting plant teams with daily functions, as related to product quality and food safety. You will also be responsible for the selection, training, and supervising of Quality leads and Quality technicians.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assure compliance to quality standards through effective supervision of Quality lab personnel
  • Understand and interpret product specifications for quality attributes
  • Understand, interpret, and develop Quality standard operating policies/procedures
  • Maintain compliance to customer requirements and research customer complaints
  • Provide leadership to Quality personnel while promoting cooperation between departments
  • Assist employees in resolving work related problems/concerns
  • Responsible for ongoing training of staff, scheduling, assigning and directing work
  • Conduct employee performance appraisals and performance improvement process where necessary
  • Maintain inventory supply and order as needed.
  • Participate in third party/internal audits, self-inspections, and pre-operational activities
  • Attend weekly production walks, weekly performance meetings, daily scheduling meeting
  • Participate and assist in R&D meetings/tasks, as required
  • Prepare and lead Held Product meetings
  • Train in Sensory and Quality Calibration
  • Participate in Weekly Department Meetings
  • Lead daily product sensory evaluations
  • Maintain Micro and Incoming Sampling matrix
  • Actively participate on the plant Food Safety and HACCP teams
  • Assist and submit supplier quality complaint notifications and investigations
  • Attend and participate in MDI meetings
  • Manage Hold & Release product protocols, including disposal of non-conforming products and case count reconciliation
  • Verification of CCPs, lab equipment calibrations and inventory management (as required)
  • Assist with corrective and preventative action tasks
  • Participate and/or lead traceability tasks
  • Oversee the review of non-complaint investigations and reporting, as required
  • Investigation and reporting of consumer complaints related to quality
  • Schedule, prepare and ship samples for external testing
  • Actively participate in QIP meetings
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science/Biology preferred, or related technical degree.
  • 1-3 years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years of experience in food safety and quality, sanitation, warehousing and/or production
  • Software requirements: SAP, WMS, Office 365 (including Microsoft programs & SharePoint), Formyoula (complaint management), DAM, Kronos, Intelex, Crystal Reports, etc.
  • Excellent communication, time management and change management skills
  • Flexible and adaptable leader
