Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVTDepartment: EmergencyPosition: Casual Part-timeLocation: Vancouver, BCCompensation: $27.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on experienceThe Vancouver Animal Emergency and Referral Centre is an established, cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary facility located in the heart of Metro Vancouver. Our Emergency Service is welcoming enthusiastic, highly motivated Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVTs) to join our ever-growing team!Our Emergency RVTs will use their technical skills to the fullest and are given the necessary tools and resources to be successful in pursuing one or multiple passions within our hospital.You will have opportunities to expand your learning through extensive exposure and involvement in various cases. Additional qualifications and attributes you must embrace to be successful in this role;Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT or eligible to registerConfident team player who can also work independently when requiredExcellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environmentExceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parentsAbility to perform a variety of clinical procedures, including (not limited to): venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, in-house lab work, anesthesia/sedation monitoring, patient assessment, and emergency triageWilling to further enhance technical skills and expertiseStrong organizational skills and ability to keep accurate medical recordsAbility to thrive and provide a high level of care in an often fast-paced environment,Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and remain calm in stressful situationsAbility to adapt to changing situationsOur emergency department provides training to all new staff members to ensure the confidence and preparedness of all new team members.
