- Current registration as a practicing member of the Nurses Association of New Brunswick.
- Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support Course and recertified yearly as a condition of continuing employment
- Possesses the medica nursing knowledge and clinical skills/expertise necessary to provide care for this population and off service patients.
- Demonstrated ability to respond to emergency situations, rapidly changing priorities, and complex patient care needs
- Be willing to obtain and maintain competency in the nursing care of patient requiring:
- Palliative care education as directed.
- Geriatric care education as directed
- Care of the dying and family care
- Pain management courses
- Other medical surgical competencies as necessary
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, as assigned, including weekends and holidays throughout the year.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Good work Record.
- Must be willing to float to other care areas with the facility as directed by Manager and or Nursing Supervisor
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with patients, families, other departments, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and good judgement.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrated professional initiative and good judgment in the application of nursing care including strong critical thinking skills.
