- Daily tasks will entail technical evaluation and designs for a wide variety of civil designs and related infrastructure, including application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related design engineering tasks.
- Assignments will involve interpretation of design manuals and guidelines that will be evaluated by a senior level staff member.
- Prepares plans, profiles, sections, and miscellaneous details with limited to high complexity in support of broader engineering activities.
- Gathers and records information to be used for cost estimating.
- Prepares specifications.
- Conducts site inspections & investigations during design development process.
- Prepares minor technical reports or sections of larger reports.
- Produce plans, 3D models and 2D drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, or MicroStation & InRoads.
- Interface with clients and attendance at meetings is required.
- Required to coordinate and manage civil engineering sub disciplines such as drainage, traffic, geotechnical, survey and others
- Certified Engineer Technician (C.E.T), Engineer-in-Training (EIT - Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering), or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
- 3 to 10 years of applicable experience in road, transportation, or transit design
- Experience with Bentley MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads
- Experience with AutoCAD & Civil 3D
