Description :COMPANY PROFILEPrimoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.SUMMARYThe Steamfitter-Pipefitter is involved in connecting pipe, hydro-testing, and rigging. This work may exist indoors or outdoors depending on the scope and is typically physically demanding.Will be responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of pressure piping systems as per provided specifications.   • Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OH&S standards
  • Construct and install static pipe support, guides, hangers, spring can and hydraulic cylinders according to specifications and drawings.
  • Perform pressure tests by increasing pressure in pipe systems and observing pressure gauges to test for leaks
  • Connect pipe utilizing threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, or fused joints and hand tools
  • Measure and cut pipe utilizing saws, pipe cutting machines, cutting torch, etc to the required shape.
  • Fit up and prepare welded piping joints.
  • PSV and Valve Removal and Re-Installation
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging
  • Secure pipe with brackets, clamps, and hangars
  • Attend required safety and tailgate/toolbox meetings
  • May perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be an Alberta registered apprentice or ticketed journeyman (or hold an apprenticeship or journeyman certificate recognized by AIT)
  • CSTS-09 or CSO
  • Overhead crane and rigging considered an asset
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to read and understand complex instruction and drawings
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be physically able to lift 50lbs and climb in/under units in the field
  • Organized and self-motivated
  • Pre-employment alcohol and drug testing is a condition of employment
