ABOUT CORPUS:Co-founded by Sylvie Bouchard and artistic director David Danzon, CORPUS is known for its precise and surrealist humour that combines movement with theatrical imagery.CORPUS’ unique and engaging performances are presented in both traditional and unusual locations for large and diverse audiences. Created in 1997, CORPUS now has 15 pieces in its repertoire and has presented over 2500 performances across Canada in 34 countries.Several productions have been nominated for Dora Mavor Moore awards. In 2001 CORPUS won the gold-medal at the IV Games of la francophonie (Street Theatre category).In 2024, CORPUS proudly celebrates its 28th anniversary.SEEKING NEW BOARD MEMBER:This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a very successful and established Canadian dance & theatre company based in Toronto, ON. Part of our mission statement is to bring live performances to public spaces globally.The volunteer Board of Directors interacts, advises and collaborates with the Artistic Director and team. Aside from its legal and fiduciary responsibilities, the board helps CORPUS to fulfil its purpose and helps to develop the organization. Members are elected annually and are expected to commit to at least a two-year term. The board meets between four to six times annually.RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • prepare for, attend, and participate in all board meetings;
  • leverage connections, networks, and resources for the benefit of the company;
  • stay informed about the organization and attend at least one performance annually;
  • have an awareness on developments in the organization’s sector;
  • other responsibilities can include assisting with fundraising activities, including ticket sales;
