This position shall be responsible for working with the other members of the accounting and operations departments in creating accurate and timely financial information for the organization and preparing tools and reports to assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.Objective of the Job:
Coordinates the planning, development, implementation, communication, and maintenance of Big River Steel's quality management systems, polices, documentation, data, and customer- specific requirements. Ensures QMS activities are carried out to support company goals and objectives at the site level and within the BRS Quality Teams, as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Understanding of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality programs and “where applicable” ResponsibleSteel requirements; follow BRS directives and comply with regulatory requirements within scope of responsibility.
2) Interface with Senior Manager of Quality Assurance for all quality management system upgrades and certifications to ensure compliance standards, specifications, and customer specific requirements.
3) Report to Senior Manager of Quality Assurance on the performance of the quality management system and any need for improvement.
4) Maintains quality training certifications as assigned.
5) Perform supplier and internal compliance audits to assure conformance with company procedures and established standards to include production, laboratory, and support processes as required.
6) Assisting with the development of QMS documentation and providing departments with quality planning and support.
7) Assist with BRS project plans and corrective actions to ensure task requirements are met by assigned personnel.
8) Conduct training for QMS as required.
9) Ensure the quality goals and objectives are communicated throughout the site as appropriate.
Qualifications:
1) Four year technical degree and minimum of two years quality systems work experience preferred and/or, minimum of two years steel industry work experience
2) Knowledge of quality management systems
3) Excellent written and oral communication skills; proficient in MS Office; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external
4) Strong attention to detail; excellent organization skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and obtain results working within strict time frames
5) Capacity to work independently from general supervision (must be self-motivated once given direction/guidance)
6) Understanding of steel mill process is a plus
7) ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 Internal Auditor certification is a plus
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to work in an office setting with tasks in the mill, which could typically involve extreme environments from hot to cold. This position can require long hours, weekend, and holiday coverage to support routine responsibilities, and travel.
