
Civil Engineer-in-Training

- Assist in the preparation of preliminary and detailed Civil/municipal design as directed by the Project Manager or Design Lead.
- Prepare and update design drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Assist in preparation of contract packages including design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Monitor, observe, and evaluate construction work to ensure it conforms with the Contract Documents and quality requirements.
- Ensure that the contractor is taking the necessary steps to meet quality standards. Ensure that all construction activities adhere to safety regulations and standards.
- Prepare daily reports and provide updates to the Contract Administrator.
- Coordinate with external agencies, other disciplines, design leads and construction personnel.

- Civil Engineering Degree. Registered as an Engineer-in-Training in the province of Ontario (PEO).
- Minimum 3 years of Civil Engineering experience as a Civil/Municipal designer for linear infrastructure projects.
- Experience with Ontario and/or TAC geometric design standards for roads and underground utility design. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads, MS Project.
- Good understanding of construction best practices, regulations, and standards. Comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders including contractors and other site personnel.
- Valid Class G Driver’s License is required.
