We work with proactive clients who understand the importance of having exceptional staff.Partner Staffing is currently working with our client to find a program manager to lead programs and large-scales cross-functional enterprise projects. There are many programs and streams of work occurring. The ideal candidate needs the experience of not just managing projects/programs,and needs to be a trusted advisor and internal IT (Information Technology) consultant working shoulder to shoulder with the leaders and sponsors.Program Manager applies their advanced knowledge and experience in managing programs, multiple large and complex projects, and project teams. This role will lead programs and projects such as Data Centre Decommission, Infrastructure projects such as IT Asset Management (ITAM), Integration Solution Implementation and BCP/DR programs.
We expect the Program Manager to work closely with the project managers on other large initiatives to identify dependencies, risks, and resourcing usage at an Enterprise level.
The Program Manager works closely and effectively with various departments, Information Services and Application Delivery Partners, project team members, and external parties to ensure projects are correctly defined, planned and delivered. The Program Manager is accountable to the Project Sponsor and PMO (Project Management Office) Leader in managing project scope, budget, schedule, and quality to deliver the expected business value that meets leadership and client expectations.Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading large, high-risk/complex IT projects with Enterprise-wide impacts.
  • Work with various business units and technology leaders, cross-functional teams, project team members, and external parties to ensure projects are well-defined, planned and delivered.
  • Demonstrates business and technical acumen to ensure deliverables and expected outcomes align with the objectives.
  • Provides IT consulting assistance to business cases, IT strategic plan roadmaps, organizational change, and business transformation.
  • Provides coaching and mentorship on Project Management and project delivery methodologies and practices to less experienced Project Managers part of the programs.
  • Works closely with the project sponsor and delivery leader to develop the project charter, including defining the project scope, objectives, approach, measures of success, stakeholder engagement and communication plan.
  • Develop integrated project plans demonstrating solid financial and project acumen (including cost estimates, budget, and resourcing requirements), applying appropriate estimation models, refining and managing performance against them, and customizing project planning methods to suit the project.
  • Manages project budgets and costs and provides estimates and forecasts, including competent capitalization, amortization, and expense management analysis.
  • Engages & collaborates with governance stakeholders to ensure compliance of products towards the corporate risk profile, standards, and organizational governance processes.
  • Performs risk planning and analysis (qualitative & quantitative), including risk identification and risk response planning at the project/program level.
  • Executes, tracks and monitors progress to plan and communicate the appropriate project information to all relevant project team members and stakeholders.
  • Contributes to and adapts to organizational change, best practices, and improvements across teams, including the effective implementation and adherence to changes in processes and procedures.
  • Look for opportunities to improve team efficiency.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience as a project manager.
  • Experience with BCP/DR and Data Centre decommission is a definite asset.
  • Experience with enterprise program governance for dependency, risk and resource management at an enterprise level is desired.
  • Experience liaising with executive teams to articulate dependencies, risks, and opportunities at a functional cross-functional/enterprise level.
  • Experience utilizing an extensive knowledge of IT project methodologies, processes, and practices to effectively deliver IT infrastructure, cybersecurity projects, and strategy/governance initiatives. ITIL knowledge is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience managing the entire project lifecycle for multiple initiatives or workstreams varying in complexity and ensuring the effective execution of large or complex projects to deliver a product or solution that satisfies stakeholder expectations and achieves project success criteria (schedule, budget, team cohesion, regulatory, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information and rationalize decisions or recommendations in ambiguous or difficult situations.
  • Possess entrepreneurial solid skills with a bias to delivering business outcomes, forging strong business partnerships, effectively managing risk, managing scope change as an opportunity to provide more excellent value, and making value-oriented decisions.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong financial management skills with capital acquisitions.
  • Strong risk assessment and management techniques.
  • Experience facilitating meetings and committees with diverse audiences (from technical teams to VPs) and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience leading and mentoring project teams.
  • Strong resource planning.
  • Experience with Office 365 tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Forms) and Project Management tools (MS Project Server, Jira, Miro board, Confluence, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative virtual team environment, facilitating and contributing to work across geographies and other functional teams.
  • Passionate about project management and delivering quality solutions, loves to learn and pass on learning to others, champions new ideas, and works with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate win-win outcomes among cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to collaborate, negotiate, and hold vendors accountable.
  • Accreditation in Project Management such as Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 or other industry recognized Project Management accreditation.
  • Familiarity and experience with Waterfall, Agile, Scrum and/or Product Management.
  • Education and/or experience with formal Change Management methodologies such as Prosci / ADKAR.
