Job Requisition ID #26WD96255Position OverviewThe Corporate Accounting team is seeking a well-rounded, strong performer who will be a key contributor to the worldwide close process. The ideal candidate has corporate and/or public accounting experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to produce high quality work in a high energy team environment. Autodesk employees are passionate, creative, and focused on making an impact in their respective fields.The position will be located in Toronto and will report to the Corporate Accounting Senior Manager.ResponsibilitiesPlay an integral part in the worldwide close process through preparing, analyzing, and reviewing assigned general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and other analysis to support the consolidated financial statementsPrepare, analyze, and report accounting results of capitalized sales commissions under ASC 340-40 Costs to Obtain a ContractPartner with FP&A to support the budget and forecast process.Partner with Channel Programs team to assess accounting for Partner programs.Ensure compliance with US GAAP for various accounting areas. Prepare and review accounting entries as appropriateWork closely with business partners and accounting teams worldwide to understand changes in the business and statutory requirements which impact US GAAP accounting areasPrepare flux analyses and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and schedules for management and external auditors as appropriateCompile and prepare monthly journal entry activity reports and obtain required review confirmationsReview and prepare various cost allocations by functionsAnalyze technical accounting issues under US GAAP and prepare accounting memos addressing technical issues as requiredAnalyze technical accounting issues and provide guidance to the Finance community, as requiredIdentify opportunities for process improvements to optimize the financial close process. These projects include information systems improvements as well as creating efficiencies with manual processesPrepare government surveys as assignedAdditional ad hoc and special projects as requiredMinimum QualificationsBA in Accounting or Finance with proven academic excellence4+ years of related experience (minimum 2 years of public accounting experience a plus)CPA or requirements met for certification is preferredAble to demonstrate a solid understanding of relevant accounting principles under US GAAPA working knowledge of SAP is preferredExperience with BlackLine a plusExperience with data analytics tools (Alteryx, Power BI, etc.) a plusExperience in multi-national public companies is preferred (experience in software industry a plus)Excellent planning, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to a non-technical audienceDetailed oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement and growthStrong Excel skills and ability to analyze dataAbility to work well in a team and as an individual contributorAbility to prioritize workload, perform in a fast-paced global environment and work overtime during peak times such as quarter-end, as needed.Learn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $71,000 and $104,500. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
