- Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology, Ecology, or a closely related discipline.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in marine biology, including demonstrated leadership on complex, multi stakeholder programs.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in scientific diving, certified in accordance with Canadian Standard Association Z275:4-97.
- Understanding of provincial/territorial and federal regulatory frameworks, approval processes, and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in conducting marine field surveys and sampling programs, including water and sediment sampling, benthic community assessments, fish collection and processing and environmental monitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to lead field teams in alignment with Safety, Health, and Environment policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Experience training, mentoring, and leading Indigenous monitoring crews, with a commitment to respectful and inclusive collaboration.
- Proven experience contributing to the development of high-quality technical reports.
- Experience working in remote or challenging environments, with adaptability to varying field conditions.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven experience working directly with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, with strong communication and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead field crews of two or more staff, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and team cohesion.
- Willingness and ability to participate in extended field programs, sometimes under challenging or remote conditions.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology or closely related field
- A minimum of 5 years experience managing biological/environmental projects
- Leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong oral and written communication skills
