Job ID: YBTAOP OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer to support enterprise-grade applications within a banking/financial environment. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, hands-on scripting experience, and the ability to manage high-priority production incidents while ensuring system stability and SLA compliance. MUST HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • 6+ years of Application/Production Support experience in enterprise environments (banking/financial domain preferred)
  • Strong expertise in:
  • Java (for debugging and root cause analysis)
  • PL/SQL (data validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution)
  • Hands-on experience with scripting languages:
  • Shell, Perl, or Python (for batch processing & automation)
  • Proven experience troubleshooting complex application and database issues in:
  • Unix/Linux environments
  • Cloud-hosted systems
  • Experience with monitoring & observability tools:
  • Dynatrace, Splunk, ITRS (or similar)
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes, including:
  • Incident, Problem, and Change Management
  • Experience using ServiceNow (or equivalent ITSM tools)
  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • Lead production support activities
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Ensure high availability and SLA adherence
NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience with DevOps/SRE practices
  • Familiarity with:
  • Jenkins, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong SQL tuning and database performance optimization skills
  • Knowledge of APIs (REST/SOAP) and tools like Postman
  • Exposure to Kafka and microservices architecture

  • Monitoring Tools: Dynatrace, Splunk, ITRS
  • Scripting: Shell, Perl, PowerShell
  • Databases: Oracle, MS SQL Server

  • Tools: AutoSys, Jenkins, Git
  • Ticketing: ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy
  • APIs: REST, SOAP
Additional Requirements
  • Candidates must be local to Toronto
  • Hybrid work model: 4 days onsite per week
  • Background check is mandatory
