Job Title:Associate Lawyer- Personal Injury and Estates LitigationOverview:Our client is seeking a junior litigator with 2-3 years of experience within Personal Injury who would like to transition into Estates Litigation.You will have the opportunity to work on Estates Litigation files simultaneously while litigating Personal Injury cases.   • Prepare and lead trials.
  • Negotiate settlements.
  • Screen potential clients.
  • Investigate claims and gathering evidence.
  • Document injuries and expenses.
  • Calculate damages.
  • Interview witnesses.
  • Review medical documents.
  • Draft pleadings and motions.
  • Represent clients through trial process.
  • Counsel clients throughout the entire claims process.
Skills Required:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or LL.M from an accredited law school.
  • Member of the BC Bar in good standing with previous experience working in litigation.
  • Legally entitled to practice law in Canada.
  • Strong business acumen with verbal, negotiation, interpersonal and drafting skills Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team of professionals.
  • Show discretion and good judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential situation.
  • Ability to provide clear direction to others.
  • Ability to run an organized caseload from beginning to end, with little to no supervision.
  • Previous trial experience is a must.
  • Excellent client service and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self starter with a team-oriented approach.
