- Lead requirements-gathering sessions with Finance, Accounting, Controllership, and IT stakeholders.
- Document high-quality Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, user stories, and process flows.
- Understand and analyze finance-related processes such as GL postings, reconciliations, financial reporting, approvals, and period-end processes.
- Translate business needs into clear system and data requirements.
- Analyze existing Finance IT applications, workflows, interfaces, and data models to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Perform data analysis using SQL/Excel to support requirement validation and solution design.
- Map current-state and future-state system processes and document dependencies across upstream and downstream systems.
- Support data migration activities, validation checks, and reconciliation exercises.
- Create process maps, workflow diagrams, and system context diagrams to support technology teams.
- Collaborate with architects and developers to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of requirements.
- Provide input on solution design while ensuring alignment with business objectives and system capabilities.
- Support testing activities including Functional Testing, Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Prepare test cases and validate system behavior against documented requirements.
- Participate in defect analysis, triage, and retesting with technical teams.
- Break down requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and tasks.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups.
- Support project planning by identifying dependencies, risks, and key milestones.
- Communicate effectively with Finance partners, IT teams, and senior stakeholders.
- Manage expectations, provide progress updates, and proactively address issues or ambiguities.
- Build strong relationships across teams to ensure collaboration and alignment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field.
- 8+ years of Business Analysis experience supporting Finance, Accounting, or Enterprise IT applications.
- Strong knowledge of finance processes (GL, AP/AR, financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, period close).
- Hands-on experience with SQL and Excel for data analysis and validation.
- Experience documenting Business & Functional requirements, data flows, and process maps.
- Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic environments.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving mindset.
- Experience working with mainstream Finance applications (e.g., Oracle Financials, PeopleSoft).
- Exposure to integration projects, data migration, or data warehousing.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity in evolving environments.
