Corporate Commercial Paralegal
Location: Surrey, BC (On-Site)
Salary Range: $73,000 – $90,000 + benefits
Job Type: Full-TimeAbout the OpportunityOur client, a well-established and highly regarded full-service law firm in the Greater Vancouver area, is seeking a Corporate Commercial Paralegal to join its growing team.This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working on a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with a partner and associate on a broad range of transactions, playing a key role in managing files from inception through to closing and post-completion.The Role
This is a hands-on position offering exposure to a diverse mix of corporate and commercial work, including mergers & acquisitions, financing transactions, and general business matters.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with complex business acquisitions and divestitures (share, asset, and hybrid transactions)
  • Supporting commercial lending and borrowing files, including secured financing matters
  • Drafting and reviewing a variety of corporate and commercial documents, including:
  • Shareholder agreements
  • Commercial contracts
  • Lease agreements
  • Preparing transaction closing documentation and coordinating closings
  • Managing multiple files and timelines across concurrent transactions
  • Preparing reporting books, invoices, and closing deliverables
  • Coordinating calendars, meetings, and workflow to ensure efficient file progression
  • Liaising with lawyers, clients, and external stakeholders throughout transactions
Qualifications & Experience
  • Paralegal certificate or diploma from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in corporate/commercial and lending work within a law firm
  • Strong familiarity with LTO and PPR registrations and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound judgment and professionalism in client interactions
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Willingness to support transactional demands, including occasional extended hours during closings
