
Geo-technical Design Engineer

- Lead the engineering design of ground improvement projects from concept to final design.
- Perform numerical modeling and analysis using software such as Plaxis 2D and other geotechnical tools.
- Act as a primary technical point of contact during design development and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to pre-design and feasibility studies during bidding and proposal development stages.
- Provide guidance and technical mentorship to junior engineers to foster professional growth and capability development.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal QA/QC procedures to ensure engineering quality and consistency.
- Participate in the training, review and approval of design documents, drawings, and technical reports.
- Support field teams and project managers to ensure seamless transition from design to execution.
- Promote practical, cost-effective solutions that align with construction realities and client needs.
- Experience with design-build or specialty ground improvement contractors.
- Familiarity with various ground improvement techniques such as stone columns, dynamic compaction, and rigid inclusions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with field exposure
- Bachelor's degree in civil or Geotechnical Engineering (minimum).
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) in good standing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in geotechnical or ground improvement engineering.
- Experience in geotechnical software such as Plaxis, Settle3, Slope/W among others considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently in a collaborative team environment.
- Practical understanding of construction and project execution; candidates focused only on theoretical work need not apply.
- Excellent verbal and written command of English
