A leader of leaders, the incumbent will be responsible for the Corporate Financing team (Financing and advisory solutions to companies with revenues of $50M and over).CHALLENGES TO BE METLeadershipDevelop and implement a regional sales and marketing plan to ensure that the strategy for financing and advisory services is realized for the Ontario Corporate Financing teamParticipate in positioning BDC as a leading-edge business development organization by developing and implementing strategies for your segment ensuring alignment with the regional strategyDevelop and foster relationships with professional networks, financial and business communities, suppliers, and counterparts of other organizations to keep abreast of emerging trends and their relevance to BDCEnsure accountability for compliance to business rules, policies and procedures in all aspects of the life of a loan (business development, underwriting, security & disbursement and administration & relationship)Develop and maintain strong, two-way communication link with the other Ontario Senior leaders and their business centers in the region in order to closely monitor key variables for the successful delivery of financial and advisory services throughout the area.MarketKeep abreast of the general issues affecting the Corporate Financing business community including market conditions, industry practices and financial results for existing and potential clients.Optimize productivity by ensuring the proper allocation of resources for acquisition of new client relationships and retention of existing clientsDevelop and implement tactical initiatives to help clients grow by adding value through knowledge, advice, and additional financing ensuring that repeat and retention goals are optimized, while balancing profit and riskPlan and manage the visibility efforts to enhance and maximize BDC’s presence in the marketplaceWork closely with partner groups: Growth and Transition Capital and Advisory to identify businesses with significant growth potential and opportunities for BDC to serve their needs.PeopleDevelop and implement a strategy to ensure that the organization and client’s needs are met through talent management, employee engagement, total rewards, learning and development, and career and performance managementEnsure BDC’s recruiting efforts offer opportunities for diversity and are representative of the communities in which BDC does business.
