This is an exciting time to join our growing team as we develop the strategies and plans to support a new brand and vision for customer centricity and operational excellence!This position reports to the Supervisor, System Design at the Ajax location is responsible for the daily activities as follows:DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, prepare, review, coordinate, and manage Engineering Projects (overhead and underground), material lists, cost estimates, job issues, drawings and financial audits for a variety of different types of projects from start to finish.
  • Liaise with municipal, regional, provincial government staff, other utilities, consultants, developers, contractors, customers, stakeholders and various internal Elexicon Energy staff to ensure the timely provision of electrical supply and assigned projects execution.
  • Monitor progress of projects and prepare reports as required.
  • Prepare and administer technical components of the RFP/RFQ process
  • Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and Engineering analysis related software (e.g. SPIDA Calc. PLS Cad etc.).
  • Knowledge of Ontario Regulation 22/04.
  • Knowledge of applicable CSA standards (OH and UG) and Electrical Safety Code
  • Project Management skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Knowledge of GIS systems
  • Knowledge of utility related construction practices
  • Excellent safety record and strong safety awareness
  • Be dependable. This role is relied upon to complete assigned work within permitted timelines.
  • Have an exceptional attendance record and proven time management skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Highly motivated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with both internal and external clients
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • 3-year post-secondary diploma Electrical Technologist
  • A.C.E.T.T. designation as a Certified Engineering Technician or Technologist in the Province of Ontario in the Electrical discipline
  • Possess a valid Ontario Class G Drivers' license with a good driving record
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in the engineering field
Compensation Package: Hourly rate between $36.96 - $52.80, as per our collective agreement with Power Worker's Union (PWU) + Benefits + OMERS Pension PlanThe above range reflects the reasonable estimate for the position at the time of posting.
