- Executes departmental policies, procedures and guidelines as a member of the divisional Food Services Team
- Executes food services for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in accordance to Brand Standards
- Executes food service for Supportive Living Lifestyle options in accordance to Brand Standards
- Executes food services for special functions such as catering and theme dinners to ensure service meets established standards
- Consistently ensures food quality, presentation, and service delivery meet established department standards; ensures meals are attractive, the correct temperature and portion size, and that service is timely
- Introduces self to new resident in the dining rooms as part of resident orientation / welcome
- Responds to resident food service needs and expectations in accordance to service expectations
- Executes the process for checking and receiving of deliveries and inventory control; ensures all supplies are stored, labelled, and rotated properly
- Executes the preparation processes for meal service
- Effectively uses all available resources towards satisfaction and financial goals
- Leverages menus, menu costs, recipe binders, and production sheets to guide food preparation
- Participates in the new menu development process
- Maintains safety and sanitation in the department to meet legislative / organizational standards
- Adheres to both provincial and Shannex food safety standards and holds team to the same standards
- Additional duties as required.
- Culinary Arts Diploma and a valid Red Seal Journey man Cook Certificate
- Current Advanced Food Handler's Certificate
- Minimum of 3-5 years of operational experience in a high-volume kitchen
- Knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Experience in preparing large quantities of food
- Ability to read & follow detailed recipes/instructions as required
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
