PURPOSE & SCOPE:Responsible for working as part of Automation Group Canada. Support the build, Integration and support of custom automation solutions within Canada and abroad.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and working with the Process, Manufacturing and Engineering TeamsComply with all company policies and procedures.Assembly of electrical circuits as per approved design including panel building and field wiringOn-site installation of automated solutions.On-site support for new and existing automation.Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic circuits.Work in close conjunction with controls technicians during setup and development of PLC, robots, and vision systems.Operational problem solving and seeking out continuous improvements to the process.Participating in team meetings to review and resolve quality, service, operations, facilities, human resources and health and safety issues, when required.Assist in the training and development of new members of operations.Participate in 5 “S” activities.Perform other related duties as required.QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:A Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (442A or 309A) and relevant industrial experienceMinimum 5 years of related experience in Canada is preferred.Proficiency in understanding electrical/pneumatic schematic drawings.Understanding of Canadian electrical code, components, and wire sizing etc.Knowledge and understanding of the basic and advanced control’s components like PLC, panels and field I/O modules, VFDs, servo systems etc.Understanding of safety circuits and requirements including networked safetFamiliar with controls networks (Ethernet/IP, Ether Cat, I/O link, Asi)Knowledge of Electrical design would be an asset.Critical thinking to identify issues, present solutions and follow through to ensure completion.Attention to DetailCommitted to meeting deadline requirementsAbility to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environmentAble to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organizationHigh level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientationCome join our global, inclusive & diverse teamOur purpose is to improve the quality of life of everyone we touch through our innovative motion systems.
