Through the cultivation of thought leadership, we deliver sustainable and forward-thinking solutions to the most complex design challenges facing the world’s leading clients and partners.Job SummaryThe Electrical Senior Designer is responsible for developing and executing electrical systems with minimal oversight from Project Manager/Team Leader with minimal supervision. The Senior Designer is also responsible for training and reviewing the work of Intermediate and Junior-level designers on electrical systems and general design processes.Responsibilities & QualificationsDuties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design process and approach for small-medium sized projects
  • Maintain client relationships
  • Assist with fee proposal preparation
  • Delegate design and production tasks to intermediate and junior staff, as required
  • Oversee the execution of and/or perform the following with technical proficiency regarding cable calculations, lighting calculations, electrical systems design layout and final design, as well as panel and equipment schedules.
  • Responsible for coordination of ellectrical and mechanical requirements with other disciplines involved in the project design team (i.e. Architects, Structural Consultants, Code Consultants, Geotechnical Consultants, etc.). As well as service requirements/connections with the respective utility and/or municipal agencies
  • Attend project meeting withs clients.
  • Provide training and review the work of intermediate and junior staff
  • Ensure successful completion of construction administration tasks
  • Perform site visits with junior level design staff for documentation of existing systems and conditions
  • Manage Project related BIM/Revit drafting and design operations including maintaining BIM/Revit and design files, and ensuring Introba's design checklist and Revit standards are being followed.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5+ years of specific HV, LV, lighting control and lighting design experience
  • Ability to read Architectural, Structural, Electrical drawings with minimal supervision
  • Ability to apply prescriptive requirements of electrical building services engineering codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both inside and outside the office
  • Able to communicate ideas effectively in meetings with architects and consultants
  • Ability to “sketch” ideas
  • Proficiency in coaching/teaching.
  • Knowledgeable in photovoltaic systems, electric vehicle charging, microgrids and battery storage is considered an asset.
  • Professional Engineer (PEng), Applied Science Technologist (AScT), or EIT designations are highly preferred
  • Following professional designations would be an asset: RCDD, Certified Passive House Designer, LEED® Accredited Professional
