Our advice is based on key principles of economics and statistics applied to our clients’ specific situations.You will work with and under the guidance of our talented Economic Services team to assist our clients in addressing complex issues, challenges and opportunities that arise in the development and implementation of policy, with a focus on economic and social outcomes. Your work will include research, analysis, stakeholder communication, note taking, and deliverable preparation. You will support the team in taking complex economic concepts and findings and distilling them into easy-to-understand ideas.

  • Sector review and analysis
  • Predictive modelling and data analytics
  • Survey design and analytics
  • Preparing deliverables
  • Communicating directly with stakeholder
What you bring to the role
  • Masters or PHD in Economics, Public Policy, Health Economics or a related field with a fundamental understanding in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and statistical methods; or a Bachelors in the same fields plus a year or more of full-time professional experience.
  • Technical skills including modelling using econometric and statistical techniques in an academic and non-academic setting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.
  • Proficiency with statistical or econometrics software (Alteryx, Stata, SAS, R, Matlab, etc.).
  • Experience with Big Data analytics (Altryx) and data visualization (Tableau, BI, Qlik) is an asset.
  • Proven written communication abilities and strong presentation skills, with demonstrated experience in business writing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong command of the English language.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
  • Experience in client service is an asset.
  • Experience in public policy analysis including measurement of social outcomes and impacts is an asset.
  • Experience using AI to support economic research or analysis is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Great attention to detail

KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $66,000- $99,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications.
