- Experience with land and title claims, including Treaty Land Entitlement, Special Claims, and land and title litigation.
- Experience with Band Governance matters, e.g., Elections Disputes, Judicial Review of Chief and Council Decisions, Removals, and other Band Governance Matters.
- Experience litigating on behalf of and in defence of First Nations Corporate Bodies, including First Nation Economic Development Bodies and Nation-owned Corporations.
- Familiarity with modern treaties and the modern treaty negotiation process, whether under the BC Treaty Commission or otherwise.
- Any experience in environmental litigation is an added benefit.
- Legally entitled to practice law in Canada
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia
- At least 7 years of Aboriginal law litigation experience
- Excellent English oral and written skills and communication ability
- Strong organization and teamwork skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage a busy practice alongside legal assistants and /paralegals/clerks
