DescriptionWe are looking for a Distribution Centre Industrial Electrician who is passionate about food and enjoys working in a fast paced, customer service centric, team environment!Do you have experience as an Electrician?Why not join us?Position: Distribution Centre Industrial Electrician - Afternoon ShiftJob Overview:Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain, the Distribution Centre Electrician is a key member of the Operations team within the Distribution Centre. The role operates on an early afternoon shift, approximately from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This position is primarily responsible for addressing electrical/mechanical issues within the warehouse environment of a grocery store chain. The electrician will work independently to solve problems, suggest improvements, and ensure the efficiency of MHE electrical systems, while collaborating with various teams at the location & suppliers to report findings and resolve issues. As the sole electrician, this role holds full accountabilities for all MHE electrical/mechanical matters within the warehouse site, without the need for travel to retail grocery stores. Key competencies such as problem-solving, effective communication, and a strong commitment to health and safety are essential for success in this position.Accountabilities:Electrical Maintenance and Repair:
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on MHE electrical systems and equipment within the distribution centre.
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues, ensuring timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Electrical systems are operating efficiently, with minimal disruptions to DC operations.
Problem Solving and Technical Support:
  • Provide technical support for electrical issues encountered within the Warehouse specifically around industrial material handling equipment (MHE).
  • Analyze electrical problems and develop effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members regarding electrical issues and resolutions.
  • Electrical problems are resolved quickly, ensuring smooth operations across the distribution centre.
  • Work closely with 3rd party manufactures with support escalations and spare parts management.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  • Licensed electrician in Ontario, Canada - 309A or 442A
  • Up to five years of job-related experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting within a warehouse or distribution center environment working with mechanical MHE equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to effectively diagnose and resolve electrical/mechanical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various teams, report findings, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently as the sole electrician, demonstrating accountability for all electrical issues and enhancements within the distribution center.
  • Familiarity with the grocery retail industry and the specific electrical needs of a distribution center environment.
Working Conditions:
  • Occasional periods of considerable physical effort. Such as frequent bending, lifting or awkward objects up to 25 pounds, repetitive motion, etc.
