Silent-Aire is a technology driven company that designs, engineers and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions.This role is located at our facility in Nisku and you must have a reliable transportation to commute.This role will be offered to work Monday to Thursday Nightshift (6 PM - 5:30 AM).The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for direct examination of product to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and align with legislation and customer specification. Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the Quality Control Inspector is responsible for strictly adhering to the organization’s quality assurance procedures and policies and identifying defects and/or production errors to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain. Level 1 CSA 178.2 W59/W47 endorsements for inspections is required.Roles & ResponsibilitiesDaily inspection of in process units: ensure sealing is completed, no missing parts, and all other in process inspections are of high qualityDaily inspection of paperwork for all in process units and report any deficiencies to Quality SupervisorComplete sub assembly inspections such as: motor, coil, evap., furnace, and paintComplete unit final inspectionsReview inspection documents and make unit packagesReport any observed safety issues to the Safety Coach or Safety CoordinatorAssist with education of other inspectors and production team membersInspect drawings and marking/breaking work and ensure it is correctAssist marking with Engineering changes where drawings are not correct and submit to Quality SupervisorInspect all aspect of units with the appropriate forms from the beginning to the end and record all discrepanciesOrganize all inspection documentation papers and online photosInspect all welded carbon steel and aluminum parts to meet codeStrong welding backgroundPerforms all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and CodeOther duties as requiredKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesLevel 1 CSA 178.2 W59/W47 endorsements required1-3 years of quality control experience in an organization that has an established quality programSome formal or practical exposure to quality control conceptsCourses with a focus on quality control and quality systemsAbility to read shop drawingsPractical experience within a manufacturing environmentHighly motivated, self-directed, detail oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervisionAbility to manage change on the floor and work well with shift supervisorsProficiency with Microsoft OfficeStrong work ethic and positive team attitudeWorking ConditionsCommercial/Industrial environment.Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools.Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).Long periods of standing.Overtime as required.ContactsCommunication is internal to the assigned work team, Quality Supervisor, and Engineering and Production teamsJohnson Controls’ Canadian subsidiaries are committed to providing reasonable accommodation to applicants, candidates and employees with disabilities, in accordance with applicable human rights legislation, and in Ontario, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”).
