Seize the opportunity: take your next step with us and join our team.Operator (Full-Time) - Varennes, QCThe function of this job is to operate and troubleshoot the air separation plant in a safe and efficient manner, as described in various procedures, processes and regulatory requirements. Using air separation and cryogenic process knowledge, the Process Technician operates in an environment where they have to prioritize and complete various activities without direct supervision. Successful candidates must be able to work alone, on rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends.Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Implementation of operational discipline, principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of plant processes and equipment.
  • Operation, monitoring, and inspection of process equipment and conditions.
  • During plant start-up, interact with various electronic, pneumatic, and PLC 5 control systems from Allen Bradley.
  • Continuous analysis and operation of plant processes and equipment.
  • Use of troubleshooting skills to recognize and resolve process deviations and problems.
  • When necessary, complete preventive maintenance tasks, participate in equipment modernization, and preventive maintenance or participate in local management of corporate programs.
  • Utilize process knowledge and skills to improve productivity and equipment reliability.
  • Professional communication between contractors, visitors, customers, colleagues, and management.
QualificationsEducation:
  • Certificate in Stationary Engine Mechanics, Class 4.
  • Certificat MMF, appareils frigorifiques, classe ScolaritĂ©.
  • Certificate of Fixed Machine Mechanic Class 4.
  • MMF certificate, refrigeration equipment, class B, and
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English
Skills :If required, available to work overtime, either at the end of a shift or outside the schedule, and
Computer and technical skills, in order to learn to work with both manual equipment and highly automated processes, and
Ability to recognize, understand, analyze, and solve technical problems.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use a variety of commonly used computer functions and the main features of Microsoft suite software, and Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Possesses a valid driver's license.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job:
  • lift 25 kg
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Work in confined and enclosed spaces
  • Able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
Assets:
  • DEP or CEC in chemical process techniques, DEC or CEC in instrumentation and control, DEP in industrial mechanics, DEP in electromechanics, or any relevant experience related to these fields of expertise.
  • Previous experience in a 24/7/365, industrial environment.
