- Supporting adult acute clinical experience across varied settings, including adult acute inpatient medicine, adult acute inpatient surgery, adult ambulatory care clinics
- Professional Development & Education Support through RVH Education Trust Fund.
- Growing and developing clinical skills within the acute care setting with the support and collaboration of an experienced and committed clinical team.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program or University with a clinical Master's in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)- Required.
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario -Required
- Member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists - Preferred
- Evidence of continuing education in acute care - Preferred
- Recent Occupational Therapy experience working in an acute care and/or rehabilitation setting preferred.
- A strong theoretical and practical knowledge of OT role and scope in promoting functional independence and occupational performance in an acute care setting preferred.
- Knowledge of community services, supports, and equipment preferred.
- Experience related to quality improvement initiatives or projects an asset
- Ability to function co-operatively as part of an interprofessional assessment team.
- Possess comprehensive assessment, treatment, and documentation skills
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, flexibility and initiative
- Ability to communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and other professionals.
- Superior organizational and time management skills are essential to management of the caseload.
- Ability to learn about, from, and with other members of the patient care team to foster a strong interprofessional model of care.
- Demonstrate an ability to appreciate the importance of and be open to new concepts and the ability to trial new approaches.
