Position: Household Manager / Personal AssistantThe PositionThis is a unique role for an entrepreneurial House Manager/PA, comfortable in a fast-paced, cultured and sophisticated home office environment. The ideal candidate is creative, smart, energetic and a stickler for details. In command of outstanding problem-solving skills, this candidate is focused on finding solutions.Working with the principal to manage a large home, and a diversified range of business, cultural and domestic interests, the candidate must be highly organized, an effective communicator and adept at “cutting to the chase”.In addition, this candidate has strong intellectual curiosity and is always open to finding a better way.In short, the right candidate is resourceful and independent; he or she has good judgement, superb organizational skills, common sense, and emotional intelligence.Key ResponsibilitiesThe House Manager/PA should feel qualified and competent enough to take an unclear assignment and, within certain boundaries, figure out how to make it work. In short, this person is a whip smart problem solver.Responsibilities involved:
  • Provide administrative and communication back-up for multiple files both personal and household
  • Communicate –– spoken and written –– on behalf of the employer
  • Manage a comprehensive administrative and project-related filing system, both digital and hard-copy
  • Manage the flow of the household with deliveries, trades and phone
  • Maintain a detailed contact system
  • Manage sophisticated events with VIP guest lists, as well as entertainment arrangements
  • Manage personal errands.
  • Basic household financial management
  • Manage an extensive wine collection
  • End of day security and systems check in the household
QualificationsThe successful candidate has at least 5 years experience providing support to a Principal with a fast-paced demanding lifestyle.Other qualifications
  • A minimum of a BA
  • An appreciation for the arts
  • Superb time management and organizational skills
  • An exceptionally strong work ethic, with the availability to work unusual hours if required
  • Proficient with digital technology and computer literate; experienced with MS Office, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Quickbooks would be an asset.
  • Previous experience in a sophisticated home environment
  • A strong sense of loyalty and great personal integrity
  • The candidate should have a full Ontario driver's license (no vehicle required)
  • Asset if candidate is willing to travel occasionally (1-2 weeks per year) and is almost exclusively to Europe and New York.
Hours: Typical hours Mon-Fri 9:30am-5:30pm with flexibility for overtime for special events.Compensation: Up to $130,000 gross per annum for the right candidate
