Collaborate with engineering and other departments to ensure seamless execution and integration of manufacturing processes. Lead the development of assembly and plant layout designs while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.How You Will Do ItDesign product assembly lines in collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teamsPrepare production setups including BOMs, fabrication parts, consumables, task lists, and subassembliesEnsure compliance with Alberta and Canadian Occupational Health and Safety guidelinesParticipate in Joint Health and Safety Advisory (JHSA) meetings and incident investigationsCollaborate with safety and structural engineering teams to design safety restraint systemsAct as liaison between engineering and production, ensuring effective communication and knowledge transferLead construction kick-off planning, including safety, scheduling, and drawing distributionMentor production coordinators and oversee assembly line layouts and process improvementsOversee and approve Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)Support welding-related activities including process development, troubleshooting, and quality assurance in manufacturing operationsWork with Quality Control (QC) to implement standard work procedures and resolve CARsPartner with Continuous Improvement (CI) teams on product research, design calculations, and ROI analysisServe as project engineer for major initiatives including Factory Witness Tests and prototype testingManage procurement, pricing, and documentation accuracy during productionCoordinate with planning teams for time trials and production schedulingEnsure compliance with RFPs, engineering specs, and contracting proceduresSupport staff training and competency development with line supervisorsAnalyze data and recommend solutions to improve performanceMonitor project progress and adjust resource allocation as neededReview QC reports and assist in resolving field construction issuesProvide technical oversight through coordination meetings and documentationCommunicate effectively across all levels via phone, email, and in-personPerform other duties as requiredWhat we look forRequired:6+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering6+ years in an engineering role with design and/or construction responsibilitiesStrong understanding of engineering principlesExcellent verbal and presentation skillsAbility to communicate technical concepts to non-engineering stakeholdersKnowledge of Canadian engineering standards and relevant codesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExperience in welding engineering, including process development and quality assuranceProficiency in mathematical methods for engineering applicationsAbility to develop alternative solutions to complex problemsStrong time and project management skillsIndependent judgment and decision-making abilityUnderstanding of company policies and proceduresCost management experienceWillingness to work in a shop environment with adherence to safety protocolPreferred:Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.) from APEGA or eligibility to applyBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineeringDemonstrated leadership capabilities#LI-Onsite#LI-JJ1HIRING SALARY RANGE: $73,000 - $104,000 CAD (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
