- Investigate, evaluate, analyze, negotiate and settle property claims in response to a Catastrophic weather event
- Evaluate liability, salvage and subrogation exposure and potential
- Contact and coordinate all parties involved in all stages of the claims process, respond to client complaints and appeals
- Review and analyze initial losses to ensure file meets assignment criteria, determine proper kind of loss (KOL) reserves based on exposure and authority level
- Examine claims files handled by Independent Adjusters when required
- Prepare and maintain various reports on property claims
- General support and adjudication of non-CAT claims and special projects, as required
- Assign and communicate with vendors on Xactanalysis.
- Previous claims experience in property and/or auto inclusive of technical and coverage issues, management/resolution would be considered an asset.
- An educational background including relevant post-secondary education complemented by a CIP designation or working towards a CIP designation
- Working knowledge of Insurance Act and other legislation governing property and casualty insurance claims
- Strong organizational; decision making and problem solving skillset with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in use of claim operating systems and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
