- University degree in a relevant field, including courses in human resources management, career development, or career counselling
- CHRP designation or Masters in Business, Education, or related field is preferred
- 3 years' experience in career or business development role
- Demonstrated experience in relationship development
- Experience in delivering training sessions, preferably in areas of career preparation
- Experience working with university students is preferred
- Experience coordinating practicum placements, co-ops, or internships would be an asset
- Knowledge of industry sectors relevant to program offerings and emerging employment trends.
- Familiarity with employer recruitment processes and workforce development needs.
- Understanding of partnership development, stakeholder engagement, and client relationship management best practices.
- Strategic prospecting and outreach skills to identify and engage potential partners.
- Negotiation and agreement-closing skills that balance student learning needs with employer expectations.
- Understanding of work-integrated learning models, experiential education, and post-secondary program structures, including knowledge of legislation and university policies relating to work-integrated learning
- Labour market knowledge and ability to identify prospective contacts in key industries
- High degree of professionalism and knowledge of conflict resolution/management theory and practices
- Outstanding relationship building skills and ability to manage relationships with business and community organizations
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coach students through career transitions, demonstrating tact, emotional intelligence, and cultural sensitivity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
- Knowledge of resume writing, interview preparation, job search methods, and networking strategies
- Ability to travel within the region and represent the institution at external events
- Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to conduct training sessions and instruct others
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Ability to problem solve, demonstrating resourcefulness, determination and resilience
- Ability to work independently, using strong organization and planning skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage activities both for self and others effectively
