Your future starts here.PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:Our dynamic Signals and Communications (S&C) team plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains. As an S&C Technician, you will be a key member of a high-performing team dedicated to maintaining S&C systems in alignment with established standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring the safe operation of trains throughout the territory. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing system malfunctions, performing critical repairs, and fine-tuning signal equipment to enhance reliability and uphold safety standards.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Utilize electronic testing tools to install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions down to the circuit board level
- Collaborate with vendors to arrange repairs for faulty circuit boards and components
- Operate computers to perform diagnostics, manage software-related tasks, and extract system logs
- Conduct testing, inspection, and repair of equipment in compliance with industry standards
- Create comprehensive reports documenting test results and inspection findings
- Offer technical and field support for corporate data networks and other maintenance operations
- Adhere to Railway Operating Rules, safety protocols, policies, and best practices
- Develop expertise in interpreting S&C circuit drawings and standards
- High school diploma or general equivalency
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Electronics and/or technologist training from a recognized technical college is a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Available to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays in all weather conditions
- Occasionally work away from home, frequently in remote and secluded location
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills by conveying information to team members and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
