Senior Engineer, Distribution

- Supervise the distribution engineering group: Engineering Assistants, Draftspersons, EITs, co-op students, summer students.
- Ensure compliance with Safety Leadership Plan.
- Provide coaching and recognition for employees.
- Assign engineering and survey resources to complete required projects.
- Develop and implement resource plans, including business cases for new positions, hiring new staff, finding and managing contract resources.
- Ensure AEY compliance with codes, regulations, and legislation related to distribution projects and engineering.
- Authenticate distribution projects.
- Authenticate distribution North of 60 (N60) standard prints.
- Develop N60 standards to ensure that they are accurate and provide solutions for Construction and Operations.
- Provide engineering support to the Operations and Generation groups as required.
- Create and execute distribution engineering processes.
- Manage the joint use process and projects.
- Provide completed construction packages including material lists, authenticated documents, and permits to the construction team.
- Work with construction and operations groups to improve the capital planning and execution process and ensure completion.
- Improve the distribution project process and tools as required.
- Support business planning process by providing estimates and detailed project scopes.
- Support General Rate Application (GRA) process.
- Manage CEARs and PCRs for distribution projects.
- Liaise with external customers (City of Whitehorse, Yukon Government, municipalities, telecommunications companies, etc.) to ensure effective execution of capital projects.
- Preparation of business cases as required.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University,
- Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation is required.
- 5-7 years of direct experience with operations and design of electrical distribution systems and project management experience in a utility environment.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
- Expert knowledge of electrical distribution systems and utility operations
- Strong analytical skills.

- Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).
- Experience working with AEUC, CSA, CEC, OH&S regulations.
