This role can be based in most major locations in Canada, where the successful candidate ordinarily works on a Monday - Friday schedule with travel (estimated at 50%) to various sites and locations throughout Canada, and the opportunity to travel throughout the Americas.We are open to this person sitting anywhere in Canada, if the location is close to an international airport.When this person isn't traveling, you will be home based.This person will join a friendly, supportive, and hard-working team, located throughout the world. This position will champion new site technology delivery related to blast movement, ore control best practices, polygon optimization, and mine reconciliation. This person will become a subject matter expert who provides hands-on project and process management support to our surface mining customers. This is an exciting, incredible career opportunity with a Global Market Leader, in which the successful candidate will be provided with relevant training, support and guidance to tackle all aspect the role.Learn more about this area of Orica -This position will support a range of Digital technologies, with a focus on the OREPro suite of grade control tools.What you will be doing
  • Scoping: Reviewing customer operations and assessing the correct Digital Solution to address the customer's needs.
  • Project Managing: Hands-on coordination of end-to-end technology project delivery.
  • Implementing: On-site integration of Digital Solutions for our customer needs.
  • Communicating: With various personnel in a wide range of positions from Management to IT department.
  • Training: Nurturing internal and external stakeholders to be effective users of Digital Technology by tailoring and delivering training packages for customers and teams:
  • Developing: Contributing and having a definite say in product development
  • Supporting: Acting as a subject matter expert (SME), assisting with OREPro™ customer support, product stewardship and advice.
What you will bring
  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in Geology, Geological engineering, Mining engineering.
  • 3-5 years related work experience, preferably in an open pit hard rock mining environment.
  • Active Canadian Driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
  • Ability to communicate at a professional level in English and French is required, due to this person supporting teams in all provinces in Canada, to include Quebec.
Your qualifications
  • Most importantly, this person is required to share our most important value - safety, which is the priority always.
  • A proven ability in problem solving and root cause analysis, on equipment, operation system and software.
  • Aptitude and ability to deliver product training to single or multiple stakeholders in both classroom environment, and via remote platforms.
  • Excellent communication, both writing and verbal alongside high level customer service skills.
  • Experience working with geological interpretation, grade control models, dig layers/polygon optimization, resource models, and mine reconciliation.
  • Assist the sales team by providing technical support during pre-sales demonstrations.
