GSK is looking to hire a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Pipeline Solid Tumors to join our Oncology Medical Affairs Team. This role is field-based with hybrid flexibility and report to the MSL Manager, Pipeline Solid Tumors. This position covers the Canada West territory. The ideal candidate will reside in or near Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary.As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Pipeline Solid Tumors, you will be a trusted scientific partner to oncology clinicians across Canada. You will share clear, balanced, evidence-based science and gather clinical insights that shape medical strategy. You will build strong peer-to-peer relationships, support clinical research initiatives, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive local impact. Your ability to communicate complex scientific data clearly, work autonomously, and engage stakeholders will be critical to success. - Build and maintain peer-to-peer scientific relationships with oncology specialists and other healthcare professionals; communicate balanced, evidence-based information to support clinical decision making
- Act as the field-based scientific expert for your territory, staying current on solid tumor biology, treatment approaches and the evolving scientific landscape
- Gather and report clinical and practice insights from the field to inform pipeline medical strategy, evidence generation and local operational plans
- Support clinical development by identifying and qualifying potential investigators and clinical trial sites across Canada
- Represent GSK at scientific meetings and congresses, supporting expert engagement, session coverage and knowledge sharing
- Deliver scientific training to internal colleagues using approved materials and contribute to cross-functional projects as required
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:Advanced post-graduate scientific degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD).Proven ability to explain and present complex scientific data clearly to clinical audiences.Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionallyKnowledge of the Canadian healthcare environment, including hospital systems and access pathways.Valid Canadian driver’s licence and ability to travel within the territory (up to 60–70%).Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet objectives in a field-based role.Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:2+ years of prior experience as a Medical Science Liaison or similar medical affairs role, ideally in oncology or solid tumorsEstablished network and relationships with oncology clinicians in CanadaExperience supporting clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, or real-world evidence projectsFamiliarity with Canadian reimbursement and access processesBilingual capability in English and French for bilingual territoriesStrong presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills***This position requires the employee to drive routinely on company business and allows for the provision of a company-leased vehicle. The annual compensation for this role is CAD115,500 to CAD192,500 , determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
