Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Vehicle Mechanic

- Troubleshooting and repairing road vehicles and equipment
- Troubleshooting and repairing large heavy duty machinery/vehicles (snow cat groomers, front end loaders)
- Performing routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Designing and fabricating assemblies when possible
- Maintaining and cleaning the maintenance shop weekly, or as required
- Performing and assisting with the maintenance of ski lifts
- Maintaining various stationary machines
- Repairing tools when required and possible
- Communicating effectively with all departments regarding maintenance
- Working cooperatively as a member of the maintenance team, and ensure safe work practices are adhered to at all times
- Complying with all department and company policies and procedures
- Performing other related tasks, as assigned by management
- Upholding the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times
- Trades certification or apprenticeship
- Previous ski industry snow cat maintenance experience is an asset
- Experience in hydraulic and hydrostatic systems
- Experience in vehicle electrical systems
- Experience in suspension, tires, braking systems and drive lines
- Experience in engine, transmission and axles
- Proficiency in welding and cutting
- Drivers license
- Proven self-motivation and ability to work well with minimum supervision
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong guest service skills
- Strong organization, time management and communication skills
- Must have a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work well within a diverse team environment
- Flexible availability: including evenings, early mornings, weekends and statutory holidays
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and temperature extremes (-25 to +30)
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk and lie down for periods for the duration of the shift
- Ability to lift and carry 25 kg (55 lbs)
- Must be able to kneel, bend, twist, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill duties
- Must be able to perform a loaded twist (torquing a wrench)
- Requires grasping, tool use, writing, standing, sitting, driving, shoveling, repetitive motions, climbing, visual acuity, listening and hearing ability
