- Author and own comprehensive data architecture solutions for complex insurance projects by working closely with business stakeholders and technology leaders. Ensure all solutions are fully aligned with enterprise architecture, adhere to technology standards, follow industry best practices, and comply with regulatory requirements
- Design, document, and implement end-to-end data models, pipelines, and integration frameworks for complex insurance projects.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology leaders to define data flows, establish data governance strategies, and ensure solutions are consistent with enterprise architecture standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Identify and extract reusable data assets such as schema definitions, ETL templates, data integration patterns, and data quality rules for application across multiple projects and programs. Assist in creating data-related business cases by providing technical feasibility assessments and cost-benefit analyses.
- Guide data strategy decisions by presenting data architecture recommendations and technical options to cross-functional teams, including executive stakeholders, and facilitate workshops to reach consensus on data platform direction.
- Work with business and technology partners to define technical data requirements, develop logical and physical data models, and provide architectural guidance throughout the project lifecycle as the lead technical data authority.
- Oversee concurrent data architecture initiatives, manage project timelines and deliverables, and proactively resolve technical roadblocks related to data migration, integration, or quality issues.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of data management technologies and tools, including data lakes, lake houses, ETL platforms, and cloud-based data solutions, to ensure optimal fit for organizational needs.
- 5 or more years of experience in the Data Architecture area with a track record for supporting mid-to-high complexity initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven ability to tackle complex technical and business challenges through creative and data-driven approaches.
- In-depth knowledge of data technologies, architecture frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Deep experience architecting and implementing data solutions on Azure and AWS, including data lakes, lake houses, and cloud-native storage and compute services.
- In-depth experience in establishing data governance frameworks, defining data quality rules, and implementing controls to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in designing architectures that meet industry and regulatory standards for data privacy, protection, and secure data sharing.
- Insurance industry experience and working knowledge of insurance concepts and applications.
- Databricks certification is an asset.
- Practical experience with Data Science, Generative AI tooling, and Agentic AI platforms to enhance development efficiency and innovation is preferred.
