  • Perform petrographic analysis using reflected and transmitted light microscopes
  • Conduct point counting and capture photomicrographs
  • Operate SEM for imaging and EDS-based mineral/chemical analysis
  • Run and interpret QEMSCAN analyses (mineral mapping, liberation, associations)
  • Maintain and update QEMSCAN mineral libraries
  • Review and ensure quality of thin section and polished sample preparation
  • Coordinate with technicians for sample readiness
  • Interpret and integrate data from microscopy, SEM, and QEMSCAN
  • Prepare technical reports with images, maps, and quantitative results
  • Monitor instrument performance and coordinate maintenance/troubleshooting
  • Follow lab safety protocols and quality system guidelines
What you bring to the table:
  • BSc. Degree in Geology
  • Experience in petrographic microscopy, SEM, QEM Scan and Thin section equipment
  • Previous lab experience is an asset
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail with good organizational skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Team player with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment
