- Assist in the creation of the leasing strategy.
- Develop and establish well formulated strategic leasing plans for assigned assets that are aligned to the strategic goals of the organization.
- Identify, source and secure new clients, and work with existing clients to satisfy expansion/renewal requirements.
- Negotiate deal terms with clients and follow up on the execution of final documentation.
- Execute client service standards to ensure a smooth transition from the offer to lease through build-out of leasehold improvements and move in as well as rental billing.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients as well as members of the brokerage community. Actively seek, listen, and respond to client feedback to ensure alignment of their needs to our goals.
- Execute the strategic leasing plans, ensuring plans are adjusted to meet broad commitments and long-term direction beyond three years.
- Participate in the development and implementation of asset strategies to ensure a consistent approach.
- Collaborate and consult internally to build effective relationships across portfolios.
- Proactively enhance Cadillac Fairview’s image externally through industry events such as NAIOP, ULI, Building Owners and Managers Association, SIOR, Real Estate Forum, etc.
- Execute the leasing team objectives, ensuring a tenant mix that fits within each property and is consistent with the asset strategy.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s delegated authorities policy and completion of appropriate business cases in a timely manner.
- Manage and execute the budget for each asset to ensure alignment with the 3- and 5-year plan with monthly reporting of revenue.
- Participate in special assignments at a portfolio and national level.
- Previous experience with a client focused approach to leasing
- Solid written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to deliver effective presentations
- Solid financial and business acumen
- Aptitude for identifying, assessing, and managing both risks and opportunities
- Basic skills in interpreting financial data, lease documents and market research
- Ability to collaborate, consult and build strong internal and external relationships within a national organization
- Demonstrated capacity to work under pressure and to embrace change
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline
- 5-7 years’ experience in commercial real estate and lease management
- Strong understanding of commercial leasing, finance, asset valuations, and client needs
- Valid licensing with the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO)
