- Perform centralized financial administrative tasks and oversee the processing of financial transactions, which may include processing donations and grants, operating income and expenses, as well as bank and treasury activities
- Prepare routine journal entries, complete bank and account reconciliations and/or execute other monthly or annual closing activities enabling accurate and timely information for financial reporting.
- Provide support to the Director of Finance to maintain the integrity of and compliance with internal controls, financial policies and processes, and financial systems.
- Support effective financial administration across VCF teams and projects (ie. creating and updating procedure documents, file management, updating forms and templates, )
- Respond to general financial inquiries from both staff and management, prepare routine reports and provide other ad hoc financial and administrative support as required to ensure smooth and effective financial operations and meeting department objectives.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. This role is also a valuable opportunity for candidates pursuing their CPA designation.
- 2–5 years of experience in financial operations or accounting.
- Experience in community-based programs or charitable sector is an asset.
- Proficiency with financial systems and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP platforms, accounting software).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
