Employment Type: Full-TimeAbout the RolePaladin Security is hiring a Healthcare Security Shift Lead for the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre — a 49-bed facility serving the Twillingate community with both acute care and long-term care services. As a Shift Lead, you’ll play a key role in ensuring safety and security for patients, staff, and visitors, while supervising and supporting the on-site security team.Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the on-site security team.
  • Ensure compliance with Paladin Security policies and NL Health Services Occupational Health & Safety standards.
  • Maintain regular communication with NL Health Services site management.
  • Verify that all officers receive mandatory orientation and training.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and defuse difficult situations professionally.
  • Supervise, motivate, and support security staff, recommending commendations where appropriate.
  • Manage documentation, including incident reports, sign-in sheets, overtime approvals, shift swaps, and client updates.
  • Assist with scheduling and ensure shift coverage, including last-minute changes.
  • Perform site patrols and respond to security codes and calls.
  • Conduct fire drills, safety education sessions, and maintain security records.
  • Attend scheduled and unscheduled meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties requested by NL Health Services in coordination with Paladin management.
RequirementsMust-Have Qualifications
  • Reside in Twillingate, Newfoundland.
  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Comfortable working in a hospital environment.
