This pivotal leadership role requires a hands-on professional who excels at managing diverse teams, coordinating complex capital projects, and delivering exceptional tenant experiences. If you're passionate about creating vibrant retail environments and have a proven track record in commercial real estate operations, we invite you to lead our operations team in maintaining and enhancing one of the area's premier shopping destinations.What your day-to-day will look like:Hire, train, supervise, and mentor all permanent and contract staff while ensuring compliance with HR requirements and fostering professional development for succession planningPrepare and implement annual operating expense and capital budgets, submit expenses through PROCORE and other platforms, and manage contractor payments and invoicing processesOversee capital redevelopment projects, tenant improvements, and day-to-day construction activities while securing competitive pricing and managing contractorsDevelop and administer preventative maintenance programs using Building Engines platform, conduct building inspections, and ensure compliance with building codes and safety standardsRespond to tenant concerns, resolve operational issues promptly, process leasehold improvement drawings, and maintain high levels of customer service through various programsSecure qualified contractors for retail operations and service contracts through competitive tendering while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standardsProvide 24-hour emergency response coverage on rotational basis, coordinate with marketing and specialty leasing departments, and assist General Manager with special projects as assignedRequired Qualifications:Minimum five (5) years’ management experience in physical operations management, preferably in a shopping centre, office or mixed-use environmentCertification in Building Environmental Systems, or 4th Class Power EngineerMust have knowledge of LEED, BOMA Best or other Sustainable Building Certification programsFully competent in all related legislation and Occupational Health & SafetyWorking knowledge of general maintenance procedures, plumbing/carpentry skills, complete familiarity with systems management technology, HVAC , central plant, electrical/mechanical systemsWorking knowledge of management principles, budgeting principles, writing business cases and request for proposalsComputer literate and proficient with Word, Excel, Building Automation Systems (Trane Tracer Ensemble or similar) and Preventative Maintenance software (Building Engines or similar).Estimated total compensation for this position:152,491.00 – 152,491.00 CAD per yearThe total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed.
