Plans and provides direct nursing care to admitted and/or stable patients in the Pediatric-Maternity unit or hospital in accordance with the unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and the BC College of Nurses and Midwives Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceRegistration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. Clinical knowledge and skills related to Medical-Surgical programs. One (1) year recent related experience in medical-surgical clinical areas, and experience or training in Pediatric, Perinatal or Neonatal nursing.Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing Specialty Nursing Certification in Pediatric, Perinatal or Neonatal nursing.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize assigned workload and set priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts, including co-workers, physicians, community agency representatives, patients, residents and families.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
