We are currently looking for a Building Mechanical Engineer to join our Edmonton office.The successful candidate will deliver mechanical engineering and consulting services, with a primary emphasis on building services design. They will bring proven experience across a range of sectors, including government and emergency services, water and wastewater, education, sports and recreation, industrial, and utilities. You will design functional and sustainable facilities that are user and operator-friendly and enhance the overall community.What we offer:

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting assessments of HVAC and Plumbing systems.
  • Preparing reports, cost estimates, detailed drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Providing support during tendering, contract administration and commissioning.
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in business development and the preparation of proposals.
  • Responsible for mentoring other staff.
  • Working on internal technical development projects along with technical presentations to peers and clients.
Job RequirementsWhat you will bring:
  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
  • 6+ years progressive experience in Mechanical Engineering within the consulting engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in building load analysis software.
  • Proficiency in AutoCad and/or Revit is an asset.
  • Experience with the assessment and design of building HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Experience with energy audits and energy modelling is an asset.
  • Ability to collaborate in a multidiscipline design team and communicate to achieve project objectives.
  • Ability to conduct site reviews to assess condition, determine progress, deficiencies, and enforce contract documents.
  • Ability to problem solve and demonstrate innovative thinking.
  • Committed team player and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
