Supporting over 250 schools, social service organizations, and Springboard staff, the HUB reaches thousands of participants annually across Canada.The Outreach & Communications Specialist, HUB is responsible for supporting the overall operations and partner maintenance efforts of the Community Learning HUB. The HUB's digital learning platform provides programs for social service workers, educators, and youth workers across the country who work with vulnerable populations to develop knowledge and skills to support their health and wellbeing. This role will support the engagement of our network of HUB Facilitators, also called our Community of PracticeReporting to Supervisor, Community Learning HUB, the Outreach & Communications Specialist will: conduct outreach and partnership development with potential HUB program facilitators and community organizations; support with the coordinating and scheduling of training sessions; spearhead content creation for the HUB’s various communication channels such as our monthly newsletter, website, and social media presence; support with the creation of onboarding resources and communications for new HUB Partners and Facilitators; ensure data integrity of our communications lists and tracking of over 2,000 HUB Facilitators; Data collection and analysis of communications engagement and client feedback; provide support for the general administrative functions of the HUB.RequirementsWAYS YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE
  • Community Outreach & Engagement – Conduct outreach and support with onboarding of potential HUB facilitators, educational institutions, community organizations, and other possible program partners.
  • Communications and Marketing – Create and distribute communications and marketing materials through HUB’s Community of Practice newsletter, website, and social media channels.
  • Data Integrity Monitoring– Support with the updating and maintenance of HUB’s Customer & Relationship Management (CRM) Software and newsletter and survey data analytics.
  • Administration and Logistics – Provide support for general administrative functions of the HUB such as program and content review, report creation, scheduling, and other general administrative tasks.
WHO YOU AREKnowledge/Experience
  • Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or related field
  • Minimum of 1-year related work experiences
  • Experience in supporting marketing and communications content creation and strategy
  • Experience in outreach and partnership development
  • Direct experience engaging with diverse populations and an ability to apply a culturally responsive lens to all interactions, including program implementation and capacity-building with young people
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and oral communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in person, by phone and by email
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects with competing timelines
  • Proficiency in computer applications for database management, word processing and presentations e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to contribute to projects and partnerships from an anti-oppressive framework
In addition, the following are considered assets:
  • Knowledge of the social service agencies operating in the Greater Toronto Area and a willingness to broaden knowledge with respect to clients coming from outside of our geographic location
  • Experience with marketing and communications software and tools such as client management systems, email listserve programs, and social media software or content creation tools such as Hootsuite or Canva.
