HHHI is regulated by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB).Halton Hills Hydro is looking to fill the position of Line Sub-Foreman in our Operations Department. The successful applicant will be an effective leader who is willing to take charge, show initiative and help our team move forward. This position reports directly to the Operations Supervisor.The successful candidate will have demonstrated the following skills, characteristics and qualifications, which are essential to performing this position effectively:
  • Dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment for the protection of our employees and the general public;
  • Proven interpersonal skills and practical experience effectively dealing with fellow co-workers, challenging customers and situations using tact and diplomacy;
  • Leadership in the areas of safety, teambuilding, training, efficiency and productivity;
  • Proven experience in the safe and efficient construction, operation and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution systems;
  • Proven experience in power distribution line construction and line maintenance with an excellent working knowledge of overhead and underground distribution systems, work practices, and equipment;
  • MEARIE / EDA certification as a Journeyman Powerline Technician;
  • A valid Ontario driver’s licence in good standing with Class ‘DZ’ (minimum);
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Utility Work Protection Code and Halton Hills Hydro’s Construction Verification Program.
The duties of the Sub-Foreman include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Effectively lead line crews involved in the construction and maintenance of both overhead and underground distribution systems, ensuring the safe and productive performance of the work;
  • Understand, practice and reinforce E&USA Safety Rules, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, ESA requirements for LDC distribution system construction (Ontario Regulation 22/04) and all other applicable legislation;
  • Participate in the training and ongoing mentoring of apprentice linepersons;
  • Participate in regular on-call system.
